ANSI
American National Standards Institute.

API
(Application program interface) – Protocols and functions which can be used when creating an application that needs to access data from a different system.

ASCII
American Standard Code for Information Interchange.

ATSC 3.0
Advanced Television Systems Committee next generation broadcast standard.

Bluetooth
A standard for short-range wireless transmissions, such as in headsets, that enable hands-free use of cell phones.

CMS
Content Management System (System for managing content, usually a website’s content. Example, WordPress).

CPA
Cost per action (cost for a specific action on a digital advertisement, such as entering contact information).

CPC
Cost per click (cost for each click on a digital advertisement).

CPM
Cost per thousand (advertising - digital - cost per 1,000 ad impressions).

DAB
Digital Audio Broadcasting, this is a copyrighted name of the digital radio system used in Europe and elsewhere

DEX
Direct Exchange.

DISA
Data Interchange Standards Association.

DMP
Data Management Platfrom: system/service for storing and analyzing data

dpANS
Draft Proposed American National Standard.

DPI
Dots Per Inch — measure of print and screen resolution (standard is 72 dpi for Web and 300 dpi for print).

DSP
Demand-Side Platform: system/service for managing multiple advertising and data exchanges in one place.

DTD
Document Type Definition.

DTSU
Draft Standard for Trial Use.

EANCOM
A multi-industry UN/EDIFACT subset developed and maintained by EAN International to communicate electronically in the global marketplace.

EC or eCeommerce
Electronic Commerce.

ECR
Electronic Commerce.

EDI
Electronic Data Interchange.

EFT
Electronic Funds Transfer.

FTP
File Transfer Protocol.
