New License Renewal Cycle Starts June 1
D.C., Md., Va. and W.V. Radio Stations Must Make On-Air Announcements
Radio stations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia file their license renewal applications on or before June 1, 2011. These stations must air Pre-Filing On-Air Announcements on May 1 and 16. Post-Filing On-Air announcements for these stations must be aired June 1 and 16, July 1 and 16, and August 1 and 16. Educating Congress on the Benefits of Radio-Enabled Mobile Phones

FCC Asks Broadcast Licensees to "True-up" Assessed Regulatory Fees
The FCC requires broadcast licensees to provide revenues amounts as the basis for regulatory fee assessments. The FCC then issues fee assessment notifications, together with an opportunity for licensees to "true-up," or update, their assessed fee amounts well before the deadline for payment of regulatory fees.

Eliminate Distant Licenses, Keep Local, NAB Says

FCC Proposes Fiscal Year 2011 Regulatory Fees
On May 3, the FCC released proposed regulatory fees for Fiscal Year 2011. The total amount of regulatory fees that the FCC collects annually is established by Congress. The $335,794,000 required by Congress for 2011 represents a 4.7 percent increase over 2010.
