New License Renewal Cycle Starts June 1, 2011
Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia Radio Stations On-Air Announcements
Register Today for NAB's License Renewal Webcast on April 26

Radio stations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia must file their license renewal applications on or before June 1, 2011. These stations must air Pre-Filing On-Air Announcements on April 1 and 16 and again on May 1 and 16. Post-Filing On-Air announcements for these stations must be aired June 1 and 16, July 1 and 16, and August 1 and 16. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has released a Public Notice highlighting revisions to the license renewal application (Form 303-S), including new certifications concerning non-discriminatory advertising contracts and a station's minimum operating schedule.

Government Relations Update
The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology has scheduled a hearing for Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. EDT., entitled "Using Spectrum to Advance Public Safety, Promote Broadband, Create Jobs and Reduce the Deficit." NAB is providing Robert Good, chief engineer of WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa., as a witness. Mr. Good will focus on the engineering issues associated with repacking, channel sharing and channel relocation.
