Register Today for NAB's License Renewal Webcast on April 26

Radio stations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia must file their license renewal applications on or before June 1, 2011. These stations must air Pre-Filing On-Air Announcements on April 1 and 16 and again on May 1 and 16. Post-Filing On-Air announcements for these stations must be aired June 1 and 16, July 1 and 16, and August 1 and 16.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has released a Public Notice highlighting revisions to the license renewal application (Form 303-S), including new certifications concerning non-discriminatory advertising contracts and a station's minimum operating schedule. The new form also simplifies the RF Radiation certification.

The Public Notice also provides information on the upcoming schedule for radio license renewals. The first group of renewal applications is due on or before June 1, 2011, from radio stations in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Please click here to read a copy of the FCC's Public Notice.

This is a critical process for radio and television stations. The FCC has made several important changes to the license renewal application, and this is the first chance for the current FCC leadership to review your station's qualifications for license renewal.

Join this informative live webcast on Tuesday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m. EDT for an overview of the license renewal process, guidance on what to look for on the revised form, and more importantly, advice on how to avoid common pitfalls that can lead to unwelcome penalties.

Peter Doyle, chief of the Audio Division, Media Bureau, FCC, and Frank Jazzo, co-managing member of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth, PLC, will participate in the discussion, which will include a live question and answer session.
