WASHINGTON, DC -- Eddie Melendez, executive vice president-West Region of Entravision Communications Corporation, has been appointed to the NAB Television Board of Directors by Television Board Chairman Jordan Wertlieb in accordance with NAB by-laws, effective immediately.
In his current position, Melendez oversees all sales and marketing efforts for 16 of Entravision’s markets including Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Monterey, Phoenix, Las Vegas and El Paso, among others. He joined the company in 2002 as vice president, director of Sales.
Melendez began his broadcast media career with Katz Television, the nation’s largest rep firm, before joining Tribune Broadcasting’s KTLA-Los Angeles local sales team. Before joining Entravision, he spent a decade in various sales management positions with Galavision, Telemundo and Univision.
A native of Culver City, CA, Melendez was the recipient of an Evans Scholarship to the University of Kansas in 1984, and became the first member of his family to graduate from college in 1988.
