NAB Show Launches New Influencer Series

-- Conference to focus on the business of sports and entertainment --

-- Will feature C-suite executives from NPR, Univision, MGM, Entertainment Studios, Facebook, and Ticketmaster, among others --

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 2019 NAB Show is launching the new Influencer Series: Sports and Entertainment. High-profile executives from leading sports and entertainment companies will participate in a series of in-depth discussions on strategies for success in an era of increasing competition. The Influencer Series: Sports and Entertainment will take place April 8 - 9 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The conference will focus on building and sustaining a franchise; strategies for attracting new viewers; business models powering ticket sales and live events; and updates in content development. Highlights include:

National Public Radio (NPR) President and CEO Jarl Mohn will discuss how the company has evolved beyond broadcast to create digital content on multiple platforms. Amplifi Media CEO Steve Goldstein will moderate the “Fireside Chat with Jarl Mohn.” Mohn will also discuss how NPR continues to grow its affiliate station’s ratings across the country.

In the session “Vincent Sadusky and Growing an Iconic Broadcast Brand,” Univision Communications Inc. CEO Vincent Sadusky will explain how the network is expanding to new platforms and attracting new audiences. Sadusky will also highlight how Univision maintains its core advertisers and Spanish-speaking local viewers.

Ticketmaster Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Sports Greg Economou will share his perspective on how research and data are influencing the value of sports content to distributors and advertisers in the session “How Ticketmaster Empowers Live Events.”

In “The Big Games Part II - Byron Allen: Playing to Win in the Digital Revolution,” Entertainment Studios Founder, Chairman and CEO Byron Allen will share how his company facilitates the distribution of content on numerous platforms, including broadcast and cable. He’ll also discuss his latest OTT and mobile platform, LOCAL NOW, which offers hyper-localized news, weather updates and traffic reports.

The Influencer Series explores various aspects of sports programming and promotion, with emphasis on soccer and the Olympic games. Additional participants include NBC Sports Group Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Storms; Los Angeles Football Club Executive Vice President of Brand and Community Rich Orosco; NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President Mónica Gil; Director of Digital Engagement at the F.A., Russell James; Facebook Product Management Lead, Co-watching Products Erin Connolly; and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Executive Vice President of Sports Content Eli Velazquez.
