NAB to Kick Off Second Year of NAB Show Collaborative

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will meet this week with its NAB Show Collaborative partners including GSMA (Mobile World Congress), Society of Television Engineers (SET Expo) and Dubai World Trade Center (CABSAT) to discuss the focus of the initiative's 2015 programs. The meetings, which will kick off the second year of NAB Show Collaborative, will take place at IBC in Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 11-16.

NAB Show Collaborative is a global initiative designed to support and strengthen innovation, growth and opportunity in the digital media and entertainment industry.

NAB most recently concluded its first year Collaborative series during the 2014 SET Expo event in São Paulo, Brazil in August. The SET Expo program featured eight conference sessions and covered topics most relevant to the Latin American media market including the evolution of workflows into the cloud, maximizing content across multiple devices, the future of sports graphics, the next generation file experience, what Facebook can teach Broadcasters and much, much more. Speakers hailed from industry leaders such as Amazon Web Services, Aspera, ChronHego, Clearleap, DIRECTV, Ericsson, Facebook and Brazil's TV Globo.

"NAB looks forward to kicking off a second year with our industry partners – leading industry events like NAB Show that bring together media and entertainment professionals from around the world," said Chris Brown, executive vice president, Conventions and Business Operations at NAB. "This year's Collaborate series provided NAB Show-caliber educational sessions and industry dialogue to a broader audience and we are planning new opportunities to expand that reach."

NAB Show will have a booth at IBC (Hall 6 A09) to provide information about speaking, sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities at future NAB Show Collaborative programs, as well as the 2015 NAB Show to be held April 11-16 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

NAB Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning Rick Kaplan will also deliver a speech at IBC on spectrum challenges and opportunities for U.S. television broadcasters following the broadcast spectrum incentive auction. The speech, which will touch on the next generation of broadcast technologies and the ATSC 3.0 process, will be delivered on September 15 at 2:35 p.m.
