NAB Statement on Today's 'White Spaces' Vote

WASHINGTON -- The National Association of Broadcasters issued a statement today following a vote by the Federal Communications Commission establishing rules allowing so-called 'white space' devices to operate in broadcast television spectrum currently allocated as interference protection.

Commenting on today's vote, NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton said:

"NAB's overriding goal in this proceeding has been to ensure America's continued interference-free access to high quality news, entertainment and sports provided by free and local television stations. We look forward to reviewing the details of today's ruling. "
