Reminder - Public Inspection Files
Section 73.3526 of the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Rules states that
"[e]very permittee or licensee of an AM, FM, TV or a Class A station in the commercial broadcast services shall maintain a public inspection file containing the material" set forth in this section. Similarly, Section 73.3527(c) of the FCC's rules requires noncommercial educational stations to provide access to materials in the public inspection file. Full Article >
NAB Board of Directors Election Update
The 2011 NAB Board of Directors election is for odd-numbered radio districts and six of the at-large television seats. Ballots will be emailed on Tuesday, March 1, and must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. EDT, March 22, 2011. Full Article >
Government Relations Update
Two hearings were held on February 16 that were of interest to broadcasters. The first hearing on the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Communications and Technology entitled "Network Neutrality and Internet Regulation: Warranted or More Economic Harm than Good?" All five FCC Commissioners testified.

Leslie Moonves and Gordon Smith Discuss State of the Industry at NAB Show
CBS Corporation President and CEO Leslie Moonves will participate in a question-and-answer session with NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith April 12 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. The session will also include a "State of the Broadcast Industry" address by Smith. Full Article >
NABEF to Honor Target with Corporate Leadership Award
The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) announced earlier this month that Target Corp. will receive the Corporate Leadership Award during the 13th annual Celebration of Service to America Awards, held Monday, June 6, at the Washington Convention Center. Watch What You Watch
The National Association of Broadcasters joined Girl Scouts of the USA, the Creative Coalition and the National Cable and Telecommunications Association in creating a national public service announcement (PSA) to promote healthy media images for youth. The "Watch What You Watch" campaign encourages audiences to pay attention to media messages, particularly the ways in which women and girls are portrayed across mediums. Full Article >
