Crystal Heritage Award to be Presented at NAB Show
KBHP-FM Bemidji, Minn., will be the second station to receive the NAB Crystal Heritage Award, recognizing a radio station's long-term commitment to community service. The award will be presented during the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, sponsored by ASCAP, on Tuesday, April 12 in Las Vegas. The Crystal Heritage Award is given to a station that has won five Crystal Radio Awards, an annual award that recognizes a radio station's year-round commitment to community service. Having earned its first Crystal Radio Award in 1994, KBHP-FM is the second station in history to achieve such a milestone. "The Crystal Radio Award represents a remarkable commitment on behalf of a station's staff and dedicated listeners toward bettering their community," said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. "Winning five Crystal Radio Awards is an extraordinary accomplishment that deserves the utmost recognition. We are honored to present KBHP with the NAB Crystal Heritage Award during this year's NAB Show Radio Luncheon." Ten NAB Crystal Radio Award winners will be presented at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon. Legendary radio personality Gerry House will join the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame and Brian Cooley, CNET's senior commentator, will review radio's opportunities in the digital future.
