Broadcasters Unite for "Broadcasters for Haiti Day"
Today broadcasters nationwide will band together to participate in "Broadcasters for Haiti Day," an NAB led initiative aimed at boosting relief efforts in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti. NAB is urging radio and television stations to 'roadblock' specific times of day, dedicating airtime to fundraising relief efforts, telephone banks, radiothons and telethons. NAB is also encouraging stations to produce localized public service announcements using on-air talent.

Entry Deadline Approaching for 2010 NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Awards
Entries are now being accepted for the 2010 NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Awards. The awards will be presented during the NAB Show in Las Vegas, 10-15 April 2010.
Established in 1995, the International Broadcasting Excellence Awards recognize international broadcasters who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing the broadcast industry and the services they provide to their communities and audiences.

WDBR-FM Springfield, Ill. - WDBR's locally produced public affairs program "Focus" puts a weekly spotlight on issues from health to finance and government. The station's "Friends and Neighbors" campaign provided promotional support and staff appearances for 30 organizations, and the station organized the "Capitol City Green Fest," where participants learned eco-friendly ideas for their homes and lifestyles. The station also held a dog wash to benefit the Humane Society. The end result: $2,000 and 200 clean dogs.
