NAB Launches NoPerformanceTax.org
Last week the National Association of Broadcasters unveiled a new grassroots Web site, www.NoPerformanceTax.org, which will serve as the organization's newest advocacy tool in its effort to thwart a record-label led effort to charge radio stations a new fee for music aired free to listeners. Among its resources, the grassroots Web site gives radio stations the ability to download, air and share radio spots opposing a performance tax. There are also an array of online banner ads for use on station Web sites and sample letters to members of Congress for individual use

Vin Scully and Dave Ramsey at NAB Radio Luncheon
Vin Scully, one of the most celebrated sportscasters in history, will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame during the NAB Show Radio Luncheon sponsored by ASCAP. The luncheon, held Tuesday, April 21, will also feature the annual presentation of the prestigious NAB Crystal Radio Awards and Dave Ramsey, money management expert and host of the nationally syndicated radio program, "The Dave Ramsey Show," will deliver a keynote.

New DTV 30-Minute Educational Program Now Available
A new half-hour educational program on the switch to digital television (DTV) is now available to stations that are still broadcasting in analog. The program produced by NAB, "Countdown to DTV: Are You Ready" explains what actions antenna TV viewers must take to upgrade to digital. It provides an update on the converter box coupon program and addresses important topics such as antennas, rescanning for channels and converter box installation.
