WASHINGTON, DC - Laurie Knight will join the National Association of Broadcasters as Senior Vice President of Government Relations.
Ms. Knight comes to NAB from the National Beer Wholesalers Association, where she has worked since 1999, most recently as Director of Government Affairs. Ms. Knight coordinated and managed NBWA's Government Affairs staff, and was responsible for developing offensive and defensive legislative strategies, devised advocacy messages and maximized support for the association on Capitol Hill.
Prior to joining NBWA, Ms. Knight was Legislative Director for Rep. Jim Turner (D-Texas). In that capacity, she managed the legislative staff efforts of the office, and developed and drafted legislation on behalf of the Congressman.
Ms. Knight, who will report to John Orlando, NAB Executive Vice President, Government Relations, is a 1990 graduate of the Pepperdine University School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University. Ms. Knight is a member of State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of California.
The National Association of Broadcasters is a full-service trade association that promotes and protects free, over-the-air broadcasting interests in Washington and around the world.
