NAB Marconi Radio Award Nominations Kit Mails to Stations

WASHINGTON, DC - The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that the 2005 nominations kit for the NAB Marconi Radio Awards has been mailed to member stations.

A Marconi Radio Award represents overall excellence in radio. To be considered for a 2005 NAB Marconi Radio Award, general managers may nominate their station in the "Station of the Year by Market Size" and/or "Station of the Year by Format" categories, as well as one of their outstanding air personalities in the "Personality of the Year by Market Size" category. They may also submit nominations for "Legendary Station of the Year" and "Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year." Stations will be able to submit their nominations online. All nominations must be received no later than May 20 to be eligible. Finalists will be announced in July.

Winners will then be chosen by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The Academy is made up of general managers, program directors, regional radio executives, owners, consultants and former radio executives. Applications for membership into the Academy can be received by contacting NAB Radio's Chris Suever at csuever@nab.org or 202-775-3511.

On September 22, the winners will be announced during the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show at The NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia.

The NAB Radio Show is the largest annual convention for radio. This year's show, September 21 - 23 in Philadelphia, will feature interactive sessions, special events and exhibits.

The National Association of Broadcasters is a full-service trade association that promotes and protects free, over-the-air local radio and television stations' interests in Washington and around the world. NAB is the broadcaster's voice before Congress, federal agencies and the courts. NAB also serves a growing number of associate and international broadcaster members.
