Unlocking Innovation: Industry Leaders Offer Insights into the Future of Broadcast, Media and Entertainment

Powerhouse panels and speakers offer cutting-edge solutions for everything from collaboration to tech to sustainability on Main Stage

Washington, D.C.— From creative collaboration to game-changing AI technology in sports, media and entertainment and sustainability to delivering premium experiences on the smallest to largest screens, thought leaders in the broadcast, media and entertainment industries will lead deep-dive conversations into the future of content, connection and monetization strategies.

On the Main Stage, Lens to Living Room – The Marvelous Magic of IMAX and Disney will showcase how IMAX and Disney’s “pixel perfect” partnership delivers premium experiences to fans around the world – from theatrical releases to streaming platforms, and the growing ecosystem of devices. Executives and experts from IMAX, Disney and Marvel Studios will also discuss the latest post production and tech advancements to deliver the highest-quality experiences wherever audiences consume their content. Carolyn Giardina, senior entertainment technology and crafts editor for Variety will moderate the session.

Exploring HBO’s True Detective Night Country: A Discussion on Sustainability in Modern Production will feature an exclusive interview with Executive Producer Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda about the innovative methods to promote sustainability throughout its production process, including renewable energy usage, waste reduction initiatives, and the incorporation of green technologies in filmmaking. This discussion will be part of the NAB Show’s Excellence in Sustainability Awards ceremony, which recognizes individuals, companies and products/services for outstanding innovations in media technology that promote sustainability and foster economic and social development. Using a portion of the awards proceeds, NAB and Amazon Web Services (AWS) will make a donation presentation to the Sustainable Entertainment Society, a non-profit organization with the mission to accelerate sustainable development through culture, arts, and entertainment. The Awards program will be hosted by Shira Lazar on April 14.

How Generative AI is Changing the Game: Thursday Night Football broadcaster Kaylee Hartung moderates a panel of experts across sports and technology, including Dr. Matt Wood, vice president of AI products at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Aaron Amendolia, deputy CIO of the National Football League, Scott Gutterman, senior vice president of digital operations for PGA TOUR and Julie Souza, global leader, strategic business development, sports at AWS. They’ll discuss real-world applications and the intersection of AI and cloud-based live production innovations.

Empowering Creative Collaboration: The Future of Production and Post: Last year’s Product of the Year Winner, Alteon.io, provides an interactive exploration of the forefront of media creation. Alteon.io Co-founder and CEO Matt Cimaglia, together with industry experts, will dive deep into real-world challenges and breakthrough solutions transforming the way we think about and execute media projects. Topics include content provenance, generative AI and how quantum computing is expanding boundaries.

Intel AI Platforms and Processors Revolutionize Sports Broadcasting at the Olympic Games and Beyond: A look behind the scenes of how new technology and AI are transforming and enhancing sporting and entertainment events and the fan experience – from production to delivery. Intel, in collaboration with OBS and Deloitte will discuss how the media ecosystem, specifically with technology delivered at the Olympic games, will drive the broadcast industry forward.

These sessions are located on NAB Show’s Main Stage at the Las Vegas Convention Center April 14 - 17, 2024.
