NAB Seeking Broad Industry Support for DTV Voluntary Commitment
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is considering cable operator proposals that would provide them with access to television broadcast signals - regardless of whether a retransmission consent agreement is in place - for a period of several months surrounding the digital television (DTV) transition. NAB has been reaching out to every television broadcaster in the country to develop a voluntary alternative that will avoid any potential consumer confusion during the DTV transition while protecting broadcasters' retransmission consent rights.
