NAB's president and CEO said to conference attendees, "...To truly reap the benefits of the digital age, we must move forward without looking back. This is an opportunity to reinvent our business. NAB and Partners Unveil Results of Project to Lower HD Radio Upgrade Costs for Stations
NAB unveiled the results of an unprecedented partnership with iBiquity Digital Corporation and four broadcast equipment manufacturers to accelerate the commercial development of products based on next-generation HD Radio "Exporter" technology. The products, which significantly reduce a radio station's cost to upgrade to HD Radio, are being introduced and made available for purchase during the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev.

Bob Barker Inducted into NAB's Television Hall of Fame
Bob Barker was inducted into NAB's Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the Television Luncheon on Monday at the NAB Show. On a stage with "The Price is Right" game memorabilia, Barker told the audience, "I miss that applause most of all. No, what I really miss is the money!" At the end of the luncheon, sponsored by Microsoft, Barker was given his signature skinny microphone and hosted an impromptu installment of "The Price is Right" where contestants spun the iconic wheel and played "Plinko."

Broadcasters Experience NAB Spot Center Live at NAB Show
Broadcasters got a first-hand opportunity to try out www.NABSpotCenter.org at the Public Service Pavilion at the NAB Show. NAB Spot Center provides television and radio stations with public service announcements ranging from the prevention of underage drinking to the upcoming presidential election. Those who visited the Public Service Pavilion were able to navigate Spot Center live and explore the public service materials available on the Web site including downloadable radio public service announcements (PSAs), previews of TV PSAs (with information on how to obtain free broadcast-quality copies), PSAs from nonprofit organizations and downloadable guidebooks.

We are in the midst of a landmark election year and NAB has created a variety of election resources to help support broadcaster's efforts throughout the upcoming election cycle.
