"The Future of TV" Spots Expire Today
The Future of TV Campaign, which launched January 4, has been incredibly successful. Television and radio stations around the country took to the airwaves to educate our audience on the many ways local TV stations are innovating to better serve their viewers. The first spots in the campaign, "The Future of TV," began airing Jan. 4 and end today. According to tracking data through January 21, we know that the spots aired nearly 60,000 times on TV and more than 20,000 times on radio – a phenomenal effort by America's broadcasters! NAB Partners with Tower Reps on Migratory Birds Environmental Assessment Issue
On January 14, the Infrastructure Coalition – a group comprised of the National Association of Broadcasters, CTIA-The Wireless Association and the National Association of Tower Erectors and PCIA-The Wireless Infrastructure Association – filed comments in the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) ongoing proceeding on communications towers and the potential impact to migratory birds. FCC Commissioner Baker to Speak at 2011 NAB Show
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker will speak during the 2011 NAB Show at a session entitled "The Washington Face-Off." Government Relations Update
The 112th Congress commenced on January 5. The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate are currently organizing and assigning members of Congress to their committees. The House has finalized the Energy and Commerce and Judiciary Committee and Subcommittee assignments. The subcommittees, which handle broadcasting issues, are the Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology and the Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property, Competition and the Internet. The Senate is still in the process of committee assignments and should announce them in the next few weeks. Click here for more information.

WIL-FM St. Louis, Mo. - WIL-FM raised more then $600,000 for local charities and provided more than $11 million in public service air time in order to serve their community. By organizing an all day "Salvation Army Tree of Lights" bell ringing day, their morning show team along with 100 volunteers, rang bells at 20 area Wal-Mart stores, collecting $8,000 in loose change.
