WTUZ-FM New Philadelphia, Ohio - WTUZ put their broadcasting weight behind their local fire department's open houses for Fire Safety Week, resulting in an increase in average 100 to 1,000. And when battery supplies began to run out after a storm knocked power out for six days, WTUZ found a warehouse to deliver more than $4,000 worth of batteries to keep their community connected. Station staff members distributed the batteries and repaired radios and flashlights, with some people driving more than 30 miles to receive help.
