Every day, broadcasters serve their local communities. They provide a lifeline in times of crisis and disaster relief in the aftermath; they raise money and awareness for people in need and for charitable causes; and they participate in community events and donate airtime to support community issues. On Monday, June 14, 2010, the NAB Education Foundation will host the 12th annual Celebration of Service to America Awards in Washington, D.C., to recognize the incredible efforts of local radio and television stations to serve their local communities.

Five outstanding radio and television broadcast stations will be selected to receive the 2010 Celebration of Service to America Awards. Station winners receive airfare, hotel and a complimentary ticket to the dinner where they will be recognized before and audience including broadcast industry leaders, members of Congress, leadership from the Federal Communications Commission and the winner of the Service to America Leadership Award. Previous Leadership Award recipients have included President Bill Clinton, First Lady Laura Bush, Sir Elton John, Quincy Jones and others. We are in the process of inviting the recipient of the 2010 Leadership Award. The 2010 Celebration of Service to America Awards will be held Monday, June 14 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.
