1. NAB Town Hall Addresses Broadcaster Issues and Priorities

2. Dr. Ashish Jha on the NAB Podcast

White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha, MD, MPH sits down with NAB Chief of Staff and Executive Vice President, Public Affairs Michelle Lehman to discuss the importance of the recent FDA authorized and CDC recommended updated COVID-19 vaccines for all Americans 12 and above.

3. Members of Congress Express Concerns on ZoneCasting

📻 This week, Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC-03) along with 12 other members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee expressed concerns to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel regarding the ZoneCasting proposal that would permit FM booster stations to selectively choose to serve certain communities, which could exclude rural communities.

"The FM booster stations proposal before the FCC could have negative implications for many of our constituents in rural communities who rely on locally focused broadcast radio for news, emergency information, and entertainment," said Rep. Duncan.

4. In the Eye of the Storm: Broadcasters Provide a Lifeline During Hurricane Ian

NAB is grateful to the local radio and TV broadcasters who provided round-the-clock lifesaving information to communities in the southeast states impacted by Hurricane Ian and continue to serve their communities in the aftermath by working with charitable organizations and sponsoring events to help with recovery efforts. 5. Local New York and New Jersey Radio Talent to Shine Brightly on Radio's Biggest Night

🗽 Premiere Network's Angela Yee and ABC Audio's Déjà Vu have officially been added as presenters to this year's sold out NAB Marconi Radio Awards. And, New Jersey 105.1 FM's Judi Franco will lend her voice as the announcer for the ceremony as NAB honors excellence in radio during NAB Show New York on October 19 at the Javits Center.

7. NAB on the Move

Hispanic Federation Event

Last week, NAB hosted the Hispanic Federation's Encuentro Digital: Latino Digital Skilling Symposium.

  • The symposium brought together over 100 Latino digital equity leaders with policy makers and administration officials to discuss strategies, policies and initiatives focused on broadband access and closing the digital divide.
  • Speakers representing national civil rights organizations as well as administration officials from the Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the FCC participated in the symposium.

NAB hosted a fundraiser for Sen. Chris Van Hollen (MD) at our headquarters in D.C. While on site for the event, founder of Urban One Cathy Hughes got to see herself represented in our interactive Hall of Fame.
