REMINDER: Deadline to Confirm Earth Station Registration is July 16

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has ordered the reorganization of C-band satellite spectrum to provide additional spectrum for wireless companies. This will involve filtering and other technical solutions for any broadcaster that has a satellite dish used to receive programming via the C-band. Only earth stations that are registered in the FCC's database will be eligible for reimbursement for any expenses associated with these changes.

The FCC has released a preliminary list of registered earth stations. You can find a link to the Excel spreadsheet containing this list here. Please confirm that your earth stations are listed as registered. Even if you are sure you registered all of your earth stations, you should reconfirm the FCC has your stations listed. If your station is not listed and you believe you submitted a registration, you should contact the International Bureau immediately by emailing IBFSINFO@fcc.gov. Your email should include a reference to "IB Docket No. 20-205" in the subject line, as well as an IBFS file number if you have it, to ensure it is properly routed.

It is critical that you confirm your earth stations are registered and contact the FCC if you believe they have been omitted in error no later than July 16. If your station is not listed and you do not contact the FCC, you may be foregoing the opportunity to have filtering and other technical fixes provided at no expense.

If you have further questions, contact the NAB Legal hotline at (866) 682-0276.
