Tell Policymakers How You Serve Your Community

The start of a new Congress provides a great opportunity to engage with your legislators by highlighting your station’s most impactful work from the past year.

It is important that we educate new and returning members of Congress about the vital role of local radio and TV stations in our communities. Please have your station fill out this template and share it with your legislators as soon as possible.

Several stations have already taken action. Check out this great example from Bonneville Seattle Media Group, highlighting their election coverage, emergency service and suicide prevention campaign, and this example from WDIV-TV, highlighting how their station covered local stories that became national and international news.

We encourage you to share images, stories and details that highlight the valuable ways your station served your community in 2018. The template is designed to feature your most significant work and establish your station as a resource for elected officials.

Please customize this template, save it as a PDF and send it to your senators and representatives with a short message summarizing your role in their district/state now.
