Washington, D.C. – A strong lineup of keynote sessions, insightful conversations and award ceremonies is confirmed for NAB Show New York’s Content Theater. Located within the Experiential Zone on the show floor, the Content Theater will serve as the event’s main hub for collaboration and education October 19-20, 2022 at the Javits Center.
Following the successful return to an in-person NAB Show in Las Vegas in April 2022, NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt will kick off the opening session of NAB Show New York with welcome remarks on October 19. Award-winning film producer and media industry analyst Evan Shapiro will follow LeGeyt with his keynote address, “Bringing Media Into the Current Century, Now.”
Other Content Theater sessions examine Web3’s impact on the business of media, the metaverse from a broadcast lens, OTT trends and shifts in the media landscape. In addition, leading media industry analyst Gordon Borrell will examine emerging opportunities for local TV and radio broadcasters stemming from changes in digital advertising in a session titled “How Local Broadcasters Are Preparing for Third Party Cookie Degradation and First Party Data Collection.”
The full lineup of sessions in the Content Theater is available online.
The NAB Show New York Impact Award will be presented in the Content Theater on October 20. Previous winners of the award, which honors the most innovative leaders in media and entertainment for their impact and influence on the overall industry as well as in the city of New York, include Meredith Vieira, Billy Porter, Wendy Williams, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
“Content Theater sessions will provide a strategic-level view of the opportunities, challenges and issues facing the future of content,” said Chris Brown, executive vice president and managing director of Global Connections and Events at NAB. “With our return to an in-person NAB Show New York, we are excited for our attendees to hear firsthand from thought leaders, engage with prospective clients and partners and gain valuable hands-on learning experience.”
Also located within the Experiential Zone are the Tech Chat Stage and the Networking Corner, which are designed to foster community between attendees, exhibitors and industry experts. The Tech Chat Stage will offer exhibitors an opportunity to spotlight how their products address challenges facing the content community today and highlight specific use cases. The Networking Corner will feature ample space for attendees to connect and discuss a variety of industry issues, including live streaming and Web3.
