Washington, D.C. – The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation (NABLF) today announced award-winning singer and songwriter Ms. Gloria Gaynor as the special musical guest at the 2026 Celebration of Service to America Awards. The ceremony, which honors broadcasters for their outstanding commitment to public service, will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 9 at The Anthem.
Over a career spanning more than 50 years, Ms. Gaynor achieved global stardom with hit songs that reached the dance charts in five consecutive decades. She has won two GRAMMY Awards, most recently in 2020 for Best Roots Gospel Album for “Testimony,” and previously in 1980 for Best Disco Recording for her iconic anthem “I Will Survive.” The latter was also added to the National Recording Registry by the United States Library of Congress for its cultural, artistic and historical significance to American society and the nation’s aural legacy.
In December 2025, Ms. Gaynor was recognized as part of the 48th class of Kennedy Center Honorees for her extraordinary contributions to music history and for representing empowerment, perseverance and joy, further cementing her as the “Queen of Disco.”
Also last year, Ms. Gaynor released “Happy Tears,” a new five-song album that blends pop and soul with inspirational messages, in collaboration with renowned Nashville-based songwriters. She also debuted “Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive,” a documentary about her journey to overcome personal setbacks and rebuild her life as she embarked on recording her first gospel album.
Ms. Gaynor remains active on the concert circuit with a full tour schedule and upcoming shows in Morocco, Italy and the United Kingdom.
NABLF previously announced the Celebration of Service to America Award winners, as well as leadership honoree Gayle Benson and corporate leadership honoree Kidde.
