Helping the Children of Ukraine

In response to the war in Ukraine, broadcasters around the country helped to raise funds to assist the children impacted by this global crisis.

  • From June 20, World Refugee Day, to July 4, stations participated in a NAB PSA campaign to benefit UNICEF USA’s emergency response for the children of Ukraine, helping to raise $1 million in a short period of time.
  • In addition to 30-second radio and TV PSAs in English and Spanish, NAB provided talking points, B-roll featuring UNICEF USA’s CEO and other resources for stations to utilize on their websites, social media and in newscasts.
  • NAB is grateful to stations across the country that have raised millions for Ukraine relief and that also provided in-depth news coverage and held fundraising drives for Ukrainians since the beginning of the war. Your actions demonstrate the power of the airwaves to create impactful public good.

Local Stations #BroadcastGood

From June 7 to August 13, broadcasters across the country took to social media to share their favorite public service projects and activities using the hashtag #BroadcastGood, reminding policymakers and their constituents of local stations’ vital role in local communities.

  • The #BroadcastGood campaign kicked off the day of the Celebration of Service to America Awards live gala and ran through the last air date of the television program.
  • Broadcasters’ engagement demonstrated the power of local broadcasters coming together to send a unified message about their incredible community service.
