The NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Awards are bestowed to licensed non-U.S. radio or television stations in recognition of their exceptional leadership in advancing the broadcast industry and the services they provide to their community and audiences. The deadline for applications is 13 February 2009. Winners are honored at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., USA in April 2009. Nominee does not have to be an NAB member. Using this new service, download and air timely Code Blue for Lung Cancer television PSAs during Lung Cancer Awareness month and throughout the rest of the year. DOT: News Crews Must Wear High-Visibility Vests on Highways Starting in November
A regulation by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) affecting broadcasters goes into effect on November 24, 2008. The regulation will require everyone working on federal-aid highways to wear high-visibility vests. FHWA has interpreted this regulation as including members of the media within the definition of "workers."
