This is a critical time for broadcast television. Pay-TV companies are aggressively working to alter the retransmission consent process to tilt the market in their favor. Meanwhile, the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) National Broadband Plan proposes reclaiming spectrum used by television stations to provide valued services. We cannot let unnecessary government intervention adversely impact local stations' ability to innovate and serve their communities.

Crystal Radio Awards Spotlight
KSWD-FM Los Angeles, Calif. - Southern California was hit with almost two months of wild fires in multiple counties. The team at 100.3 The Sound worked hard to figure out a way to give back to the the families of two fire fighters who died during the blaze and came up with "Firefighter Friday," which took place on Friday, September 11, 2009. The Sound raised more than $14,000 during Firefighter Friday when listeners were able to call in and make donations in exchange for a song request.
