New PSAs from Members of Congress
New localized public service announcements (PSAs) featuring members of Congress and their families are now available. For television PSAs, NAB will provide satellite feeds on Tuesday, June 23 in high definition and Wednesday, June 24 and Wednesday, July 1 in standard definition. To view coordinates and the state by state feed schedule, click here. Radio PSAs are en route to radio stations and will be available for download at www.nabspotcenter.org starting June 24. NAB encourages you to air the PSAs recorded by the participant in your district or state frequently to demonstrate your ongoing commitment to serving your local community.

House Subcommittee Reviews Satellite Home Viewer Legislation
On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet held a hearing on a discussion draft of legislation to reauthorize the Satellite Home Viewer Act. Paul Karpowicz, president of Meredith Broadcast Group and chair of the NAB Television Board, testified on behalf of NAB.

New Draft FCC Form 388 Available For Review; Filing Deadline is July 10
During the final quarter leading up to June 12, 2009, heightened DTV consumer education requirements were in effect. The FCC previously announced that it would revise the DTV Quarterly Activity Station Report (FCC Form 388) to capture station's education efforts.

TV Boss PSAs Past Expiration Date
Please discontinue airing any of the Ad Council's "TV Boss" campaign spots as the talent rights have expired. The campaign was originally created to urge parents to take a more active role in their children's television viewing habits. The spots were part of a multi-industry campaign originally launched in 2006 that informed American families about how they can monitor and supervise their children's television consumption.

Broadcast Leadership Training Program Applications Available
The NAB Education Foundation's Broadcast Leadership Training (BLT) program will launch its 10th program cycle in September. The focus will be on expanding and furthering training opportunities for the existing alumni as well as continuing education for new participants. Returning BLT alumni will be active participants in the program. The courses will be taught by the prestigious BLT faculty which includes broadcasters, FCC staff, leading communications attorneys, members of the Wall Street and banking community and academic faculty from leading universities.
