On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet held a hearing on a discussion draft of legislation to reauthorize the Satellite Home Viewer Act. Paul Karpowicz, president of Meredith Broadcast Group and chair of the NAB Television Board, testified on behalf of NAB. In addition to Mr. Karpowicz, Preston Padden, executive vice president of Worldwide Government Relations for The Walt Disney Company and NAB Television board member, represented the broadcast industry.
