NAB Appoints Three to Radio Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In accordance with NAB by-laws, Radio Board Chairman Dave Santrella has made three appointments to the NAB Radio Board of Directors, effective at the beginning of the June Board meeting held June 8-9.

Appointed for a new two-year term as the Radio Board representative for District 10 (Indiana) is Mike Hulvey, chief operating officer for Neuhoff Communications.

Appointed to at-large seats are Greg Davis, president and CEO of Davis Broadcasting, and Jesus Lara, president of Radio at Univision.

Hulvey is the chief operating officer for Neuhoff Communications, which owns and operates 20 radio stations in Illinois and Indiana. Hulvey serves on the Executive Committee of the Radio Advertising Bureau and president of the International Broadcasters Idea Bank.

Hulvey is the founder of a nationally recognized mentoring program for aspiring broadcasters, and served as Radio Show Steering Committee chairman in both 2015 and 2016. He was inducted onto his high school “Wall of Fame” joining previous honorees such as Dick Van Dyke, Gene Hackman and Irving Azoff.

Hulvey and his wife Julie live in Danville Illinois. They have four adult children and one grandchild.

After beginning his career in broadcasting working in marketing and sales management on the television side, Davis started Davis Broadcasting, Inc. in 1986 by acquiring multiple radio stations in Columbus and Augusta, Georgia. He has since owned stations in Atlanta and Macon, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Davis has served on the boards of numerous local and national charities, as well as on the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters, Georgia Association of Broadcasters and the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters. He is a recent inductee into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame and the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Davis received a B.A. in Biology from Lane College. After serving in the U.S. Army, he received a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. He and his wife Cheryl have three children.

Davis assumes the at-large seat formerly occupied by Hubbard Radio Chair and Chief Executive Officer Ginny Hubbard.

As president of Radio, Lara is responsible for Univision’s Uforia, the #1 Hispanic radio network and audio platform in the country. Based in Miami, Lara oversees Uforia’s cross-platform strategy of radio and audio properties, including the expansion of TUDN radio network, the largest Spanish language sports talk radio network in the US, and spearheaded the launch of the Uforia Music Series, which brings Latin music fans unique live music experiences, including private, invitation-only performances and large-scale shows featuring some of the biggest names in the Latin music industry today.

Lara joined Univision with more than 20 years of experience leading digital, programming, content and marketing teams in the radio, music and entertainment industry. He has worked with top media and content companies, including Viacom, EMI and other radio groups.

Lara graduated from Florida International University with a degree in marketing and international business. He holds an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University and an MSc in Digital Marketing from I.E. Business School in Madrid, Spain.

Lara assumes the Radio Board seat previously occupied by Univision Chicago President & General Manager Doug Levy.
