September is National Preparedness Month

Over the past few weeks, numerous states have encountered natural disasters – from earthquakes to hurricanes. Is your station prepared? NAB offers the member benefit program Agility Recovery to its members to ensure broadcasters can recover from any type of disaster or interruption.

For National Preparedness Month, Agility Recovery is partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps for National Preparedness Month, a nationwide effort to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, workplace and communities.

These organizations have partnered with the Small Business Administration to create an online educational portal which provides real-world insight into the business continuity process via recovery stories from small business owners and the solutions that saved them from turmoil. The website gives broadcasters access to a variety of tools including: a preparedness toolkit, over 20 planning checklists, best practices for testing preparedness plans, information on disaster assistance loans, as well as access to the "Prepare My Business" educational webinar series.

This September, there is a series of free webinars that NAB members can sign up for. Click here for the details.
