Country Music Artist Ronnie Dunn to Perform at NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show
The NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show will feature Artista Nashville recording artist Ronnie Dunn with a full band performance. The performance, sponsored by Patrick Communications, will occur on Thursday, September 15 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, the venue for the 2011 Radio Show, produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB). "We are thrilled to present such an acclaimed country music star as this year's entertainment for the Marconis," said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. "Ronnie Dunn's outstanding talent has earned him tremendous success, and we thank Dial Global for helping us get Ronnie for the Marconis." Dunn's self-titled debut solo album hit number one on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart upon its June 7 release. A combination of hard country and hard rock with a healthy serving of down home gospel soul, the album was "one of the year's most impressive country releases," according to The New York Times. Ronnie Dunn's first hit single, "Bleed Red," was followed by the poignant "Cost of Livin," a song Dunn co-wrote to highlight the impact of today's economic situation. MusicRow's Robert K. Oermann praised the song as "understated and immensely moving." The lyrics come to life in the music video that features co-writer Phillip Coleman in the opening. The Texas-born songwriter's catalog has accumulated more than 60 million performances. Fourteen of his songs have earned more than 1 million performances each, including "Boot Scootin' Boogie," "Brand New Man," and "Red Dirt Road." Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards are given to radio stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio. Winners will be announced at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, hosted by Premier Networks' Elvis Duran. For more information about the Radio Show, visit www.RadioShowWeb.com. |
