NAB, NCTA Express Concern Over LUC Provisions

Broadcasters and cable operators recently sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell expressing concern over a provision in the Senate version of the DISCLOSE Act, which would rewrite well-established political advertising laws and expand the scope of the Lowest Unit Charge (LUC) that broadcasters and cable operators already provide to federal candidates.

The letter was signed by NAB Joint Board Chairman Steve Newberry, president and CEO of Commonwealth Broadcasting; and Kyle McSlarrow, president and CEO of the National Cable Telecommunications Association. Click here to read the letter in PDF format, and click here for more information on LUC.
