FCC Proposes FY 2010 Reg Fees, Intends to Eliminate Postcard Notices
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed regulatory fees for fiscal year 2010. Congress has mandated that the FCC collect $335,794,000 in regulatory fees for 2010, to recover the regulatory costs associated with the FCC's enforcement, policy and rulemaking, user information and international activities. This total represents an overall decrease of 1.8 percent from fiscal year 2009.

Ornelas to Join NAB as Executive VP, Chief Strategy Officer
NAB announced the hiring of Christopher Ornelas as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. Ornelas, who will join NAB on May 10, will report to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith. "Chris Ornelas is a proven leader for whom I have enormous respect," said Smith. "His deep understanding of Washington and telecommunications policy will serve radio and television broadcasters well, and I am thrilled to have him join our team."

Shree FM Presents 2010 NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Award to President of Sri Lanka
On April 22, E.A.P. Edirisinghe Organisation Managing Director Jeewaka Edirisinghe presented the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) International Broadcasting Excellence Award to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees. The award was given to Shree FM in recognition its outstanding commitment to serving its audience and the public through its community service program, "Shree Sathkaraka Rohala (Shree Mobile Medical Camp)."
