2. How the Broadcast Positioning System Team Spent Their Summer

NAB's Technology department has been busy installing and testing Broadcasting Positioning System (BPS) equipment at WHUT in Washington, D.C.

  • BPS is an innovative use of the ATSC 3.0 standard that is a reliable, complementary service to GPS. If GPS is compromised, BPS still works.

3. Now Open: 2025 NAB Broadcast Engineering and IT Conference Call for Papers

Proposals for technical papers and panels are now being accepted for the 2025 NAB Broadcast Engineering and IT (BEIT) Conference, part of the 2025 NAB Show, held April 5-9, 2025, in Las Vegas.

  • What’s happening: The NAB BEIT Conference is designed for broadcast engineers, technicians, technology managers, developers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, consultants and researchers. The event will address current and technical topics, with a forward-looking emphasis on the evolution of technology across radio, television, digital and the broader media and IT ecosystem.

4. ICYMI: NAB Hosts Annual Workforce and Inclusion Forum

Last week, NAB and the NAB Leadership Foundation hosted the annual Workforce and Inclusion Forum.

  • Broadcast executives who attended this exclusive event heard from expert speakers in workforce development and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

5. New Breast Cancer Awareness Month PSA Now Available

Refresh your station’s public service announcement creative at NAB’s Spot Center, a destination for local radio and television broadcasters seeking public educational materials from credible organizations.

  • A new Spanish TV spot from the National Breast Cancer Foundation focusing on awareness in Hispanic communities is now available.

6. NAB on the Move

Recently, NAB staff attended the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s 47th Annual Awards Gala in D.C.
