The Government Relations department and its team of Capitol Hill advocates work to ensure broadcasters’ positions and interests are represented before Congress. The department works with key lawmakers and members of the Administration to educate them on the importance of broadcasting and how broadcasters contribute to the local community. The department monitors legislation with important policy implications on the broadcasting business.
The department prepares legislative information, reference materials and updates on Capitol Hill activity and the actions and policy positions of federal lawmakers to ensure broadcasters are informed on the latest policy developments.
The NAB Political Action Committee (PAC) is an important part of advocacy outreach to help strengthen the broadcasting industry. NABPAC gathers voluntary contributions from NAB members, and works closely with the association’s advocacy team to identify and support pro-broadcast candidates for federal office.
