Has LPFM Impacted Full-Power Stations? FCC Wants to Know The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Media Bureau is seeking comment regarding the economic impact of low-power FM (LPFM) stations on full-power FM stations as part of the FCC's compliance with the Local Community Radio Act of 2010. In particular, the Media Bureau is asking interested parties to provide evidence of LPFM stations' impact on audience ratings and advertising revenue of commercial stations. The FCC is not, however, interested in anecdotal evidence of interference by LPFM stations on full-service stations. Comments are due through electronic or paper filing by June 24 and reply comments are due July 25. Click here to read the Public Notice. |
