NAB Completes Merger with MSTV

NAB is pleased to announce that the merger of the Association for Maximum Service Television (MSTV) and NAB is now complete.

Merging MSTV and NAB centralizes the functions of technology and lobbying, which is critical at a time when broadcasters are under more pressure than ever before to prove our technological efficiency and effectiveness. This merger benefits our industry and association and will help to build a strong future for all broadcasters – both radio and television.

As part of this merger, four employees from MSTV are joining NAB. Joining our Science and Technology team are Victor Tawil and Bruce Franca, formerly the chief engineers at MSTV, and Linda Milloy, who will serve as an administrative assistant. Joining our Legal department is Sue Baurenfeind, who will serve as an executive secretary. The expertise and knowledge that they bring to the table will benefit all broadcasters – radio and television – and further position NAB as the authority on technology issues.

Kevin Gage, NAB's new executive vice president and chief technology officer will lead our enhanced technology team. Kevin will focus on how technology issues can impact and advance the business of broadcasting.

MSTV's former chairman of the board, Robert Hubbard, will join NAB's Television Board of Directors and hold a non-voting seat on the executive committee. He will also chair the association's new Technology Advisory Committee. Rob is the president and CEO of Hubbard Television Group and the vice president of Hubbard Broadcasting.

NAB has a robust technology program that is committed to fostering innovation and spurring the development of new technologies for broadcasters. With this merger, we are taking our technology expertise to the next level, incorporating the knowledge cultivated by MSTV for the past 50 years.
