Ensure Your Radio Spots Comply with Federal Requirements Some stations are currently airing spots to promote broadcast-radio enabled mobile phones. This is an issue that radio stations have advocated before Congress and the Administration, and as such, may be considered an "issue advocacy" spot. As a reminder, any spots stations air that are considered "issue advocacy" must comply with all Federal Communication Commission and Federal Election Commission requirements, including on-air sponsorship identification and public file disclosure. To assist with public file disclosure, NAB members can receive a copy of the PB-16 Form (Political Agreement Form) by calling (202) 429-5400 (non-members can purchase the PB-16 form at www.nabstore.com). For questions regarding sponsorship identification issues, please contact your station counsel or call the NAB Legal department at (866) 682-0276. |
