NAB CRYSTAL RADIO AWARD PRESENTED TO WILV-FM LAS VEGAS, NV - WILV-FM Chicago, IL today was awarded the National Association of Broadcasters Crystal Radio Award. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. NAB selected 10 winners from a pool of 50 finalists. Recipients were recognized at today's Radio Luncheon in Las Vegas. WILV-FM provided this description of its accomplishments in 2005: "Making a difference. It's about helping, and people. WILV, LOVE fm, is a dedicated team of people who embrace and illuminate Bonneville International Corporation's commitment to "Making a Difference." Through our work, our service and our people LOVE fm touches the heart of Chicagoland. 2005 was filled with opportunities for LOVE fm to support causes that affect our listeners and our families. Employees personally donated 1,846.5 hours to over 40 organizations and contributed nearly $10,000 in fund-raising. LOVE fm further ran the course of service by giving nearly $7 million in airtime to over 300 causes and donating over $5 million in website exposure. We helped raise over $600,000 for diabetes research and $1 million for breast cancer research. We helped create 22 college scholarships. We inspired our community to participate and share with organizations and noble causes. Because people matter most, LOVE fm joined competing Illinois broadcasters in raising over $6.4 million for Hurricane Relief. LOVE fm is humbly called to a higher expectation of heart. In '05, we enthusiastically answered the call with genuine personal and organizational giving. Our heart for the community lives within our team spirit, our corporate philosophy and our people."
