Clear Channel Kicks Off St. Jude Kids Radiothon Season
Around 180 record label and radio station personnel toured the hospital, meeting with patients and families to hear their stories and learn why this program is critical to the hospital. Attendees also learned about the latest medical advancements and received tips on producing a successful radiothon to help raise awareness for St. Jude. The weekend concluded with the annual radio station dinner and a special performance by award-winning gospel music artist James Fortune, who also serves on the Radio Cares advisory council. Listeners can find a live radiothon in their area through www.radiocaresforstjude.org. Radio Cares for St. Jude Kids has raised more than $12 million for St. Jude since 2002. Country Cares "No Shave November" Benefits St. JudeWarner Music Nashville challenged Music Row and Country Radio to enter their "No Shave November." The $30 entry fee benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. On October 31, participants will post a photo of themselves on Facebook sporting a clean shave and displaying that day’s newspaper. On November 30, participants submit photos of their final facial hair, again with that day's newspaper. The finalists will receive prizes at Warner Music Nashville’s "Beard Bash" and a panel of celebrity judges will crown the "No Shave November Champion."
