2011 Radio Show Features New Leadership Breakfast

NAB and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) have announced that the 2011 Radio Show will debut a new program sponsored by Dickstein Shapiro LLP titled "Leadership Breakfast: A Discussion about Radio's Future," which will be held Thursday, September 15, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago (and will include a breakfast co-sponsored by Media Services Group).

The Leadership Breakfast will feature a panel with Lew Dickey, CEO of Cumulus Media, Alfred Liggins, CEO of Radio One, Dan Mason, president and CEO of CBS Radio, and Bruce Reese, CEO of Hubbard Radio.

Marci Ryvicker, a broadcast analyst with Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, will provide the session's opening remarks.

The panel will be moderated by Lew Paper, a Dickstein Shapiro partner, and will focus on the changing face of radio – increased revenue through more efficient operations, expanded listenership through HD Radio and new technologies, and an infusion of debt and equity financing to support new acquisitions.

The panelists will draw upon their extensive experience to address these issues.

Lew Dickey co-founded Cumulus Media in 1997 and became CEO in 2000. Cumulus now manages more than 350 radio stations throughout the country and will have approximately 570 stations after it completes its pending $2.4 billion merger with Citadel Broadcasting Corporation.

Alfred C. Liggins III has long been the CEO of Radio One, Inc., which has 54 stations in 17 urban markets that specializes in formats of special appeal to African-Americans and urban listeners. He is also the chairman of TV One, LLC, a Radio One venture that provides cable/satellite video programming designed to serve the needs of African-Americans.

Dan Mason began his second tour overseeing CBS Radio in 2007. CBS has 130 stations – most of which are in major markets. Dan was president of CBS Radio between 1995 and 2002 and has been at the forefront of radio's efforts to capitalize on new technologies.

Bruce Reese oversees the operations of 21 radio stations in five national markets as CEO of Hubbard Radio. Bruce was previously the long-time CEO of Bonneville International and helped to orchestrate the recent $505 million sale of 17 Bonneville radio stations to Hubbard.

Marci Ryvicker joined Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Securities, LLC) as an equity analyst in June 2002 and continues to monitor developments in broadcasting as well as other media industries.

Lew Paper heads the broadcast practice at Dickstein Shapiro, LLP, a national law firm of more than 350 attorneys that handles FCC matters, contracts, financing, intellectual property and litigation involving radio and television stations.
