See What NABEF is doing at the NAB Show

The NAB Education Foundation hosts a number of events at the NAB Sow to prepare leaders at every level in broadcast. Here are just a few of our many events:

Focus on Leadership
Focus on Leadership is a one-day forum during the NAB Show where top managers in broadcasting hear from experts discussing various leadership topics. This half day program will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Room N237. This year the event will feature Dr. Linda Hill, the Wallace Brett Donham professor at Harvard Business School. She is the author of "Being the Boss," one of the Wall Street Journal's Top Five Must Read Business Books for 2011. She will be joined by Paul Nunes, executive director of Research, Accenture Institute for High Performance. He is the author of Jumping the S-Curve: How to Beat the Growth Cycle, Get on Top and Stay There, Harvard Business Review Press.

Career Day at the NAB Show
The annual NABEF Career Day will be held during the NAB Show on Wednesday April 13, from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Las Vegas Hilton. Career Day provides an excellent opportunity for media companies to network with experienced professionals, college students and entry-level job seekers interested in a career in the broadcast industry. In addition to a variety of media recruiters, Career Day includes a series of informative sessions, one-on-one career coaching and a new segment, Dressing for Success.

Technology Apprenticeship Program
The Technology Apprenticeship Program (TAP) launches its' first activity at the 2011 NAB Show. This program brings together a diverse group of individuals pursuing technology and engineering careers, both in radio and television. At this year's NAB Show, the students will attend sessions at the Broadcast Engineering Conference, tour the International Research Park and participate in one-on-one networking sessions with prominent industry professionals, who were hand-picked to meet with the students. The TAP participants will be recognized at the Technology Luncheon on Wednesday, April 13. For more information on this program click here.

Women in Technology Reception
This year, NABEF has partnered with TVNewsCheck to host the Women in Technology Reception. This reception will be held on Tuesday, April 13 from 5-6:30 p.m. in N117 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will honor women in broadcast technology.
