Cox Media's WBHK-FM Saves Christmas for Birmingham Citizens
Cox Media Group's WBHK-FM Birmingham, Ala., saved the holidays for Alabama residents on December 16, by replacing the city's Christmas tree, which was burned down by arsonists earlier that week. After the radio station learned thieves had vandalized the tree in Birmingham's Linn Park, WBHK 98.7 FM announced the station would purchase a new tree and host a reinstallation ceremony at the park last Thursday morning. The radio station's operations manager Kori White explained, "Every Christmas image is important. You can't let anyone steal that away from us. It's important to act, and act quickly. We've got to have a fighting spirit." Click here to view the new Christmas tree and read more.

All collected food went to feed residents in need in the 12 northeast Louisiana parishes.
