New Radio-Enabled Cell Phone Resources Available

With the growing buzz surrounding radio-enabled cell phones in the nation's capital and beyond, NAB is educating Congress and providing resources for its members to help you educate your listeners on the benefits of this technology.

NAB has placed a series of print ads this month in Capitol Hill publications reminding policymakers that broadcast radio capability on mobile phones can provide Americans with instant emergency alerts and information.

NAB unveiled a new website for consumers - www.RadioRocksMyPhone.com - that explains how radio-enabled cell phones can easily connect listeners to the local radio stations they love for free, and provide lifesaving emergency information during times of crisis.

The site also addresses the misconceptions regarding radio-capable mobile phones, noting: More than 70 percent of consumers want radio-enabled cell phones, the feature would not be costly to add, does not take up too much space and does not make phones heavy or drain the battery.

In addition, the site encourages visitors to express their support for the technology and directs them to the few phone models that are available in the United States that are "radio ready."

Radio provides the most efficient and cost-effective way to keep Americans safe and informed. That is a fact. Encourage your listeners to visit www.RadioRocksMyPhone.com.
