Political Tip
Question: How do I know whether a candidate is entitled to the discounted political rates?
Answer: A candidate is “legally qualified” when he/she (1) has publicly announced his/her intention to run for nomination or office; (2) is qualified under the applicable local, state or federal law to hold such office; and (3) has qualified for a place on the ballot or has publicly committed himself/herself to seeking election by the write-in method. Broadcasters may request written verification from the candidate or they can consult their state election commission.
