Final Reminder: Wireless Mics Must Vacate 700 MHz Band by June 12

Wireless microphones operating in the 700 MHz band must be retuned or replaced by June 12, 2010. Last year, the FCC ordered this action as part of the completion of the DTV transition to enable the rollout of communications services by public safety and the introduction of next generation 4G wireless devices. Both licensed and unlicensed users of such wireless microphones must cease operations by June 12, 2010. The FCC also reminds users that continued operation in violation of this obligation may cause interference to critical radio communications; therefore, violators may be subject to monetary forfeitures or other sanctions. For more information, visit the FCC's website on wireless microphones.
