Opening Session Jump-Starts World's Largest Entertainment Media and Technology Conference
The 2010 NAB Show opened today with an opening session that contained a mix of thought-provoking and entertaining speakers. More than 85,000 audio, video and film content professionals from 156 countries are expected to attend the event, which runs through Thursday, April 15 in Las Vegas. Sony Corporation's President Hiroshi Yoshioka, actor and activist Michael J. Fox, and NAB President and CEO Gordon H. Smith addressed the opening session attendees, who also received a special welcoming message from the crew aboard the International Space Station.

On March 27, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) put on public notice a Petition for Rulemaking that asked the FCC to allow AM stations operating on regional channels to provide full pre-sunrise service as of 5 a.m. rather than 6 a.m.

NAB Members: Visit the NAB Member Lounge at the NAB Show
The NAB Member Lounge will be open daily at the 2010 NAB Show. Stop by to network with your peers about exciting advancements in broadcast technology; learn more about members-only benefits and how NAB is advocating for you in the nation's capital; stay in touch with your office through wireless Internet access; and relax between sessions and exhibits. The NAB Member Lounge can be found in room N243 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The lounge will be open Sunday 2-5 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Wednesday 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

If you are an NAB member, click here to download your complimentary copy of NAB Political Broadcast Catechism, 16th Edition and/or Political Broadcast Forms (PB Forms-16). The Political Broadcast Catechism answers many of your questions and will help you find solutions to the most common political broadcasting questions during the election season. The NAB Legal team, in collaboration with some of Washington, D.C.'s top communications counsel, and in consultation with FCC staff, created the Political Broadcast Forms to assist broadcast stations with their political candidate advertising campaigns.
