FCC Clarifies AM Antenna Performance Verification Method

On September 26, 2008, the FCC amended its rules to allow use of computer modeling techniques, known as moment method modeling, to verity that AM directional antennas are working as authorized. In response to a series of questions from interested broadcasters, the FCC last week issued a Public Notice clarifying several aspects of this new procedure. The Public Notice intends to answer the most frequent questions that parties have raised, based on FCC staff interpretations of the new rules, and is not meant to set precedent in any area. More information can be found in the Public Notice.
